I met up with Brit and Ryan on a blistering cold January day to have some fun in Harrisburg. They were struggling with thinking of a location for their engagement until I suggested the Whitaker Center. They immediately lit up and told me that they love going there and the rest is history! Ashlee and David were determined to get their engagement session in on one of the coldest days in recent memory so we made it work. They were total champs despite the below freezing temperatures. Once we couldn’t take it any more, we headed inside The Strand (Appell Center for the Performing Arts) to create some epic portraits of these two. I can’t wait for their wedding day in September at David’s grandparents’ private estate in York!
After finishing up Caitlin and Steve’s engagement session in Wilmington, we hit the road and headed to Philadelphia to meet up with Danielle and Andrew. We had some gorgeous yet cool fall weather which was fine with us considering we got rained out for our original engagement session date. November continued to be a great month weather wise for weddings and engagements and it was no different for the day of Caitlin and Steve’s engagement session at Hagley Museum and Library in Wilmington, Delaware. The grounds are a photographer’s dream and Caitlin and Steve made the rest of the stuff easy. They were up for anything, including climbing all over rocks by the river. Rachel and Tony brought me down to Annapolis for an epic sunrise engagement adventure throughout Annapolis and the United States Naval Academy. Tony was able to get us some pretty exclusive access thanks to his service and we made sure to make the most of it. We had some incredible skies and scenery throughout the day and the architecture of the buildings at the Naval Academy certainly weren’t anything to scoff at either. I met up with Nikki and Brian at the Chickie’s Rock Day Use Area in Columbia on a gorgeous fall day in November for their engagement session. Their dog came along for a few photos as well and then it was off to the races with Nikki and Brian. We found some great locations for photos and Nikki and Brian even had some fun on the playground set together. I’m looking forward to their wedding next September at Historic Shady Lane!
I was visiting NJ for a few days to attend a workshop and it just happened to be located fairly close to Christina and John in Morristown. I woke up at the crack of dawn and we ventured around the beautiful quaint town of Morristown. Christina and John are two of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet and their natural smiles and fun loving energy made my job a breeze. I met up with Elaine and Jonathan on a gorgeous Friday evening to kick off the busiest weekend of the wedding season for me! We ventured all over the stunning Tucquan Glen Nature Preserve to make use of the different landscapes. Elaine and Jonathan’s playfulness was on full display throughout our time together which always makes my job easy. Stay tuned for more from these two when they marry at The Old Mill in July 2018!
Waking up at 4 AM and driving over an hour isn’t something that most people would be willing to do for sunrise pictures. However, Jamie is a photographer as well and thankfully convinced Keenan to do it. We were blessed with the most amazing sunrise that I’ve ever seen and we made the most of it while it lasted. The natural chemistry between these two certainly didn’t hurt either. Nothing but smiles, laughs, and joking around throughout the entire morning. Natalie and Eric sat through some horrific DC traffic to make it to their engagement session but it was totally worth it because the weather and scenery were absolutely perfect! Did I mention that Natalie and Eric are total naturals at the whole interacting and posing thing? They crushed it throughout their entire session and it resulted in one of my favorite engagement sessions to date.
