Kim & Chip – Philadelphia Engagement

Kim & Chip – Philadelphia Engagement

Working with family is always tricky due to the nature of photography and mixing personal and business. However, I felt very confident working with Kim, my cousin, and her fiance, Chip, because they valued my work for what it is. We woke up early for an epic Philly sunrise at Race Street Pier and then made our way back to their place for some photos with Stanley, their adorable dog. We ended the shoot by heading to the Italian Market where there were all kinds of interesting things going on.

Truc & Minh – Philadelphia/Saigon Maxim Wedding

I’ve known Truc and Minh since college so I was ecstatic when they asked me to be their wedding photographer. While I knew that their wedding day would be a unique one, I truly had no idea what I was in for! 16 hours, three photographers, videography team, and nearly 500 guests. Yeah, it was a pretty epic day!

The one thing that I really loved about Truc and Minh’s wedding is that it was all about family. Vietnamese culture places a huge emphasis on family and that’s demonstrated by having two ceremonies, one at each family’s home. The families also have a very unique method of exchanging gifts throughout the day which made for some great moments.

After the ceremonies, everyone ate lunch and we spent the afternoon at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and Fairmount Park. The weather was absolutely gorgeous (besides being crazy windy) and it wasn’t too crowded so it made for a great time.

The final stop of the day was at Saigon Maxim Restaurant near the waterfront. The venue was gorgeously decorated with bright and vibrant colors. You could tell how much time was spent paying attention to details for their nearly 500 guests. That’s no small task!
